Head Coach Hannah Cornett’s group featured five seniors (Maleah Smith, Julie Mavity, Kanea Clemons, Miklyn Troxtel, and Kayden Seals).
The Lady Hornets advanced to the Elite 8 after defeating Holy Spirit and Appalachian before losing to Spring Garden in the Super Regionals.
In the Elite 8, Ider defeated Kinston 3-0 before facing their nemesis and eventual State Champion, Spring Garden.
Despite their best efforts, the Lady Hornets fell to 0-3 against Spring Garden, losing 3-0.
“Our team made great strides this season, but a team is only as strong as its leaders.
“All of our seniors stepped up this season to advance our team to the Final Four. I am incredibly proud of them,” Coach Cornett said.
