Staff Reports
The Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama are out to break a tasty world record Sunday – and you can help.
At 2 p.m. Sunday, girl scouts will be going after the Guinness World Record for the most people making s’mores at one time.
Amie Martin, Girl Experience Specialist for the North-Central Girl Scouts, said already 2,000 people have registered to be part of the free event – plenty to break the current record of 1,150 people.
The public is invited to watch or to be a part of the effort, whether they are scouts or not.
All registered Girl Scout members will receive a free patch for attending, and official Guinness World Record holder patches will be available after the event if a new record is set.
To be part of this unforgettable moment, bring family and friends to one of the six official sites and join the scouts. Martin said people who want to participate should be there by 1:45 p.m. so all can be registered by 2 p.m. and the roasting can commence at 2:30 p.m.
