Morning Wreck Claims Life of Boaz Woman

Story By Mary Bailey

Saturday morning a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of 25-year-old Kayla S. Wise of Boaz.

The official statement from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) was released later Saturday afternoon.

According to ALEA the accident happend around 11:41 a.m. Saturday morning, Dec. 27.

Wise was fatally injured when her 2007 Suzuki XL-7 she was driving left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire. She was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Needmore Road, approximately two miles west of Albertville.

Hearts were broken as news spread over the weekend.

Wise was an employee of Boaz Florist and  Sunday evening the company released a statement about their beloved employee.

“This is not a post I thought I would ever have to make. All I can think is how do I tell our customers about our tragic loss of our sweet Kayla? Kayla was more than a coworker or employee, she was my future daughter in law, she was mine, my kid, my friend. She had a contagious smile and always so happy and laughed about everything! And the most thankful and appreciative person you would ever meet! Please keep our Boaz Florist family in your prayers and be patient as we learn to cope and adjust to a new normal! We love and appreciate you all so much!”

ALEA said nothing further was available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
