NORTHEAST, Ala.-- It's time to break out the lawn chairs and blankets and celebrate the Fourth of July with spectacular events across Northeast Alabama!

Independence Day, also called the Fourth of July, is the annual celebration of our nationhood.   It commemorates the passage of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. 

The City of Henagar will host the 40th Annual Sand Mountain Potato Festival at Henagar City Park on July 4.  There will be a parade, cruises in, live music, food of all kinds,  rides, and of course fireworks.  The parade begins at 10. Opening ceremonies for the event will start at 11 am. There will be a host of musical talent throughout the day.  The fireworks show starts at 9 pm. 

Goose Pond Colony Resort, is pleased to host the 40th Annual Fourth of July Celebration taking place on the banks of the Tennessee River. This is one of the oldest annual 4th of July celebration held in North Alabama. The tradition continues with a full evening of musical entertainment, family fun, and North Alabama's largest free firework display. The fireworks will be held on Monday, July 4.  

The concert starts at 6:00 pm. Fireworks will start at 9:00 PM at Goose Pond Colony Resort located at 417 Ed Hembree Drive - Scottsboro. 

A variety of Food and Drinks will be available at both the amphitheater and in the parking lot next to the pool. No outside alcoholic beverages will be allowed

Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to the celebration. During the fireworks display, spectators can tune to 98.3 Wild Country, for live music and to keep updated about the show

Celebrate the birth of our great nation this weekend by spending time with family and enjoying one of the many fireworks shows or festivals across our area.
