MENTONE, Ala. – How many grocery shopping carts can a person fill in three minutes? One lucky winner will find out on July 11, 2017 when the North Lookout Mountain Fire Protection District (NLMFPD) in Mentone holds their First Annual Grocery Shopping Spree Fundraiser at the PriceLess IGA in Fort Payne, Alabama.
“We estimate the value of the Grocery Shopping Spree to be around $1,200. After we pay for the cost of the shopping spree itself, the remaining proceeds will go towards the purchase of new firefighting equipment for the NLMFPD,” said a spokesperson for the fire department.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, May 20th for $10 each. They can be purchased at the PriceLess IGA location in Fort Payne, online at www.NorthLookoutMountainFPD.com, or at the main fire station located at 5922 Hwy. 117 in downtown Mentone, every Monday night between the hours of 6:00 – 7:00 PM.

The NLMFPD is in need of help after fighting the numerous wildfires last fall. The department is a volunteer organization, and battling the fires during the drought last year took a toll on their equipment. By purchasing a ticket, you can help the department and have a chance at $1200 in free groceries!
