FORT PAYNE, Ala. — On March 19th the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office was called out to a residence in Valley Head, stating that a woman had been shot. Witnesses said that Roy Miller Barkley III, 50 of Valley Head and Stone were arguing, Barkley had a gun and during a confrontation the gun went off, hitting Stone. Barkley was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder. Stone was transported by Life Force helicopter to Erlanger hospital where she is listed as in critical condition at this time. This is still an ongoing investigation.
On Friday, March 17 around 10:37 pm the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office got a tip from a concerned citizen about a juvenile missing person. Fyffe Police Department and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at a residence on Blackwell Street in Fyffe. The missing juvenile was found at that residence.
Daniel David Wooten and Michael Anthony Wooten were also at the residence. Michael Anthony Wooten, 30 of Fyffe was arrested for three counts of Rape 2nd Degree, three counts of Sodomy 2nd Degree, Interference with Child Custody and Sorna Violation. Daniel David Wooten, 51 of Fyffe was also arrested and charged with Rape 2nd and Interference with Child Custody.
On March 18th Claudio Toscano Mayoral, 30 of Albertville, was found asleep in the back seat of a vehicle at a residence. Mayoral was arrested and charged with Use False ID to Obstruct Justice, Unlawful Break/Enter Vehicle and Criminal Trespass 3rd.
On a different incident same date Derek Alfred Brown, 37 of Odenville, AL was found in possession of a stolen 18 Wheeler truck that was reported stolen from Talladega. At which time Talladega Sheriff’s Office was contacted. Brown was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property 1st and Criminal Trespassing 3rd.
DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said, “this has been a very busy weekend. Thank you to the citizens for their tips and to the Police Departments for their help on these arrest.”
