Geraldine 74-Valley Head 29
RAINSVILLE, Ala.— The number one seed, Geraldine Bulldogs defeated the Valley Head Tigers 74-29, Tuesday night in the first round of the Dekalb County Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament.
Geraldine led the the Valley Head Tigers 25-9 at the end of the first quarter. They went into halftime with a 50-16 lead and easily maintained the lead for the remainder of the game.
At the end of the third, the Bulldogs led 66-23 and extended their lead by 45 to close out with a victory. They will face next door neighbor Crossville in the semifinals, Friday night at 7:30 pm.
Three Bulldogs reached double digits in scoring. Tate Richey led the Bulldogs with 20 points. Bret Armstrong had 13 and Justin Murphy finished the night with 12.
Two Valley Head Tigers reached double digits in scoring. Isaiah Smith had 15. Ethan Harrison finished with 10 for the night.
