My fellow citizens of Boaz,

It is with much hope and a deep sense of commitment that I announce my intention to run for mayor of our beloved city. As a lifelong resident of Boaz and someone who had the privilege of serving four consecutive terms as your mayor, I’ve witnessed firsthand our city’s opportunity and potential for growth.  I am grateful to live in this incredible city with my wife Michelle, who teaches and coaches at Boaz High School.  Our son Zeb and his wife Samantha reside in Kingsport, TN.

During my previous tenure, we saw significant advancements across the board. I was instrumental in recruiting numerous businesses, attracting new industries and overseeing the expansion of existing ones, all of which contributed to a thriving local economy. We also invested in our community’s future by building a state-of-the-art public library and a much needed senior center, both vital hubs for community development. My experience spans retail development, industrial development and community development, giving me a broad understanding of the multifaceted needs of our city.

Even while out of office these past few years, not a day has gone by when I haven’t thought about how we can further enhance the quality of life in Boaz. I’ve actively worked on new ideas and maintained essential contacts that I believe are crucial for our future success. I’ve also continued to refine my skills, obtaining my real estate license and staying current with the latest trends in municipal management. My passion for Boaz has not diminished; in fact, it has only grown stronger. I’ve listened intently to your comments and concerns, and I understand the challenges and aspirations within our community.

I want to assure the people of Boaz that together we will work to bring positive change while preserving the cherished qualities of our small town. We will foster a new attitude of cooperation and openness, working for a better understanding of all aspects of Boaz, including our financial position, public partnerships and future community development ideas.

I am excited to share new ideas for business, industry and community initiatives throughout this campaign. I consider myself truly blessed to live in Boaz, and I am determined to see us move forward with optimism and care for all our residents. I lean on my faith to guide my decisions, ensuring a leadership that is both hopeful and deeply committed to our people.

I am prepared for this position, and I am eager to once again serve the people of Boaz. I believe my experience, education, and faith provide the strong foundation needed to lead Boaz in a positive, forward direction.
