Friday Night the 100th season of football for the Valley Head Tigers begin by hosting a fall preseason Jamboree. Teams from Coosa Christian, Sand Rock and St.John Paul II joined the Tigers for the Jamboree.
In Valley Heads first contest of the night, the Tigers faced Sand Rock for two quarters. Valley Head defeated Sand Rock 7-0.
The final two quarters of action for the Tigers saw them face off with a Coosa Christian team that made headlines this passed week. Last Sunday, Coosa Christian made the move to suspend Head Coach Mark O'Bryant due to AHSAA sanctions that made the team ineligible for the playoffs this season if O'Bryant had remained the coach.
On Wednesday, Coosa Christian named former Hoover Head Coach Rush Propst interim head coach for the 2025 season.
Valley Head fell to Coosa Christian 21-0 in two quarters of play.
"We played really well against Sand Rock, we battled hard against a good Coosa team but game up short there," said Valley Head Head Coach Charles Hammon.
Valley Head opens the regular season Friday as they travel to Cedar Bluff.
