The Wildcats rolled past visiting Madison Academy 65-36 to win their 30th consecutive home game at Hambrick Hall.
Scottsboro’s last loss on its home court was to Eagleville (Tennessee) in Dec. 2023.
Against Madison Academy, Class 5A No. 1-ranked Scottsboro (14-2) raced in front 29-12 after one quarter before leading 46-17 at halftime and 63-22 after three quarters.
Izzy Nelson scored a game-high 19 points for the Wildcats while Tatum Shelton had 10, Ella White and Caroline Dawson nine each, Mia Martin eight, Ava Grace Long and Abigail Shelton four each and Draeia Prater two.
North Jackson 64, Geraldine 58 — At Stevenson, the Chiefs edged visiting Geraldine for a win Friday afternoon.
North Jackson (6-3) trailed 12-9 after one quarter before tying the game 26-all at halftime and taking a 45-42 lead after three quarters.
Cask Smith scored 15 points and Lexi Gary netted 13 for the Chiefs, who also got now from Alley Stubblefield, eight each from Gentry Reed and Brylee Seale, six from Sydney Moore and two each from Cheyenne Chesser and Millee Grider. Alice Jordan and Karissa Brock led Geraldine with 23 and 15 points respectively.
SATURDAY
Section 61, Skyline 26 — At Section, the Lions closed the first half of a 28-3 run en route to the win over Jackson County rival Class 1A No. 8-ranked Skyline.
Section (8-8) trailed 9-5 late in the opening quarter before taking a 14-9 lead after one. The Lions then pushed their lead to 32-12 at halftime and 53-22 after three quarters.
Millie Gentry scored 21 points, Ava Harper netted 12 and Kylee Dutton tallied 11 for the Lions, who also got five points from Lluvia Soria, four each from Zella Johnson and Jullianna Varner and two each from Kayley Machen and London Robertson.
Emma Manning scored seven points, Maddux Wininger netted five and Hadley Epps and Adasah Perry had four each for Skyline (9-5), which also got three from Jade Yeager, two from Brinna Wilson and one from Adalyn Bellomy.
