It must be something about knocking off the number one seed, to refresh and renew you.  Sylvania was coming off their huge win against New Hope. Sylvania hosted Senior night and what a great way to bid farewell to the Seniors.  The Sylvania Rams charged into the game against Ider Friday night and never looked back.  They totally dominated the Ider Hornets for the 36-0 win.

Sylvania Junior, Caleb Roebuck took the opening kickoff back 95 yards for the touchdown.  The extra point by Nick Shepard was good, making the score 7-0 with only :13 ran off the clock.  The Ider Hornets took possession of the ball but could not get into the endzone.  They settled for a field goal attempt but the kick was unsuccessful.  With 1:01 left in the first, the Rams took over.  Caleb Roebuck scored on a 4-yard dash and the extra point by Shepard was good.

The Ider Hornets took back possession but fumbled the ball.  Hunter Miller brought it down 37 yards. Caleb Roebuck finished it off with a 37-stampede for the score.  His third touchdown of the night.  The two-point conversion by Ethan Dover made the score 22-0 going into the half.

After the half, the Rams held the Hornets to regain possession.  With 6:20 left in the third, Dylan Dicus threw like a pro, to hit Ethan Dover.  Dover ran in from the 20  to score a Ram touchdown.  The PAT by Shepard was good.

In the fourth, Ider fumbled again on the 30 yard line.  They held the Rams.  The Rams returned the favor and held the Hornets and took over possession midfield setting up the scoring opportunity for Dylan Discus with 7:13 left in the game.  The kick by Shepard was good.  Final score was Sylvania Rams 36, Ider Hornets 0.

Coach Putnam had this to stay about his Rams, “We played the most complete game of the year.  Proud of our seniors for finishing strong and excited about the future.”

The Southern Torch Standouts for the game were Caleb Roebuck, Dylan Dicus, Hunter Miller and Nick Shepard.  Roebuck rushed for 116 yards on 12 carries.  Discus had 92 yards on 12 carries.  Hunter Miller had 70 yards on 8 carries.  Nick Shepard kicked a perfect game.
