North Jackson 14
Sylvania 6
The game started great for Sylvania, with Aiden Parham galloping 75 yards to the house, giving the Rams a 6-0 lead in the first quarter. However, Sylvania struggled to execute in the red zone, having a penalty call back a potential game-tying touchdown in the third quarter and failing to execute on both field goal attempts.
While Parham ran for 171 yards on 24 carries to lead a solid rushing attack, the Rams passing game struggled, completing 1-12 passes for 14 yards.
"North Jackson played very well tonight, and we didn't execute when we had chances. I thought our guys played hard tonight, and they will continue to improve. We have an off week next week. We will get it cleaned up and be ready for region play when we play Holly Pond in two weeks," head coach Tanner Nelson said.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Rams scored under 10 points for the first time in 25 games overall when they scored seven at Piedmont on September 2, 2002.
The last time the Rams scored under 10 points at home was against Susan Moore on September 6, 2019 (29 games ago).
Ider 6
Section 20
The Hornets achieved a statistical anomaly on Friday night in their 20-6 loss against Section.
Ider ran the ball well (267 yards rushing) and totaled 335 yards overall, moving the ball up and down the field. They forced Section into four turnovers (three fumbles and an interception) while committing zero turnovers. Yet they lost by 14 points.
The NFL is the only database available to search when a team fits those parameters and still manages to lose.
Only four times in NFL history has this occurred and once since 1999.
