DeKALB COUNTY, Ala. — The DeKalb County Commission held its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, January 12.

At the meeting, Director Anthony Clifton of the DeKalb County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) announced through the CARES Act, the EMA was able to purchase several LUCAS devices. These devices will aid in CPR for ambulances, fire department, and rescue squads throughout DeKalb County.

Commissioner Chris Kuykendall informed the Commission that due to liability reasons, the Dogtown Masonic Lodge would no longer be able to serve as a voting location. The next election will be held in two years, giving the County ample time to find a new location.

DeKalb County Engineer Ben Luther updated the Commission on funding expenditures for 2020 for the Rebuild Alabama Act.

In other business, the Commission approved:

  • The 2021 Severe Weather Preparedness Tax Holiday (Feb. 26-28)
