Arrest Made for Drugs in Fort Payne

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — (According to Fort Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum) On February 1, Officer Zac Priest responded to a vehicle accident in the 1600 block of Glenn Blvd SW.  

Upon Officer Priest’s arrival he noticed a male subject, John Austin Carter, age 22 of Ider, stuffing something down the front of his pants.

Mr. Carter had in his possession twenty-two hydrocodone pills, two Oxycodone pills, two Acetaminophen pills, one Xanax pill and a Xanax bar. Mr. Carter was arrested for DUI of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He is detained at the Dekalb County Detention Center where he awaits bond.
