This week’s outstanding student is an honor student who has been chosen to be a performer at the National Beta Convention. Kasey England is a senior at Woodville High School.
This All A student is a member of the Woodville High School Beta Club. At this year’s State Beta Convention, Kasey was selected as a Premier Performer. She now has the opportunity to perform at the national level this summer. She also won second place in biomedical sciences at the 2023-2024 State Convention.
Kasey is a member of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) amd SkillsUSA at the Kevin Dukes Career and Innovation Academy where she is enrolled in the Health Science Program. She took second place in medical math at the SkillsUSA State Competition in 2022.
This top student is a dual enrollment student. She takes classes through Northeast Alabama Community College.
Math is Kasey’s favorite school subject. “I love problem solving and challenges,” she adds.
Kasey would say to freshmen, “Enjoy every moment – the good days, the bad days, and even the long ones. Time flies really fast before you know it.”
This young lady says that the best thing about Woodville High School is that everyone treats you like family. “The staff cares and works hard for students. My favorites are Mr. Parson and Mr. Duncan for pushing me to continue to do better.
“Tech has given me opportunities that prepare me for my future career,” says Kasey. “I also have met new friends from other schools.”
Kasey is a teacher assistant at Jill’s Studio of Dance. There she participates in competitive dance.
She also volunteers with Whitesburg Baptist Church.
Following her high school graduation, Kasey plans to attend nursing school at Auburn University. She wants to become a family medical nurse practitioner.
When this busy young lady has free time, she enjoys reading and watching You Tube. She also likes to hang out with her friends.
Kasey is the daughter of Heather England and has four younger siblings. They are Christina, Elizabeth, Eric, and Michael. Her grandparents are Robert and Michele Wright. The family has numerous animals at their house including three dogs named Zeena, Zooey, and Moose, a llama named Makin, four cows, nine chickens, and eight Alpacas.
