Suspicious Seeds Show Up in U.S. Mailboxes

ALABAMA —The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) along with other state and federal agencies are investigating packages that have shown up in mailboxes across the United States.

These packages contain seed packages from China.  Officials are collecting the packages and will test their contents to determine if they contain anything that could be detrimental to our county’s agriculture and environment.

The USDA urges anyone that receives a package that contains seeds to contact their state agricultural division.
