On 05/17/2022 Rainsville PD officers responded to a call of a woman trying to steal a car in the 100 Block of Chavies Road at approximately 5:29 AM. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Aaliyah Gabrielle Yother going thru and getting items out of vehicles. Yother Was arrested and charged with five counts of Unlawfully Breaking and Entering a Vehicle, Minor Consuming Alcohol, Public Intoxication, Trespassing, and Theft of Property. She is currently in Dekalb Co Detention Center with a $41,500 bond.
Rainsville Police Department responded to an address in the 1300 Block of Church Avenue on 05/13/2022 at approximately 9:30 AM to answer citizen complaints of possible drug activity going on at that address. When officers arrived, they found two people at the residence and spoke with them in the driveway of the address. Parties were identified as Mark Anthony Clines and Charity Nute. During this conversation, Charity Nute was found to have a pipe commonly used for smoking meth as well as methamphetamine in her pocket. During the process of her arrest, Ms. Nute tried to resist officers, causing damage to one of the police vehicles. The other individual Mark Clines, who was living at the residence, gave officers consent to check the residence, where they found a loaded .22 caliber pistol with the serial number destroyed. Also, in the residence, 2 pipes commonly used for smoking meth were found. Mark Anthony Clines was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Firearm with an altered or destroyed serial number. Charity Nute was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Resisting Arrest. Both were booked into Rainsville City Jail and then into Dekalb Co Detention Center.
On May 6th, Adam Curtis Whitzell was arrested on warrants after a grand jury indicted him for Arson 1st and Making a False Police Report. This stemmed from an investigation that started back in March 2022, when investigators believed he tried to set his house on fire with his family inside. Chief Edmondson said he was proud of all the hard work and effort put forth by the officers involved.
