Official groundbreaking for Sand Mountain Marketplace

Story By Joe Cagle

The City of Albertville held an official ribbon cutting for the Sand Mountain Market Place this past Wednesday.

The property will be home to the new Target store as well as Academy Sports + Outdoors, HomeGoods and Burlington along with retailers to be named later as well as additional outparcel restaurant and retail offerings.

The property is located at 10722 US Highway 431 in Albertville.

Willow Capital Partners, an Atlanta based commercial real estate developer, is heading up the project. Representatives of the firm along with officials from the City of Albertville and Marshall County were all on hand for the ribbon cutting.

“The city is extremely proud to partner with Willow Capital Partners to bring this significant project to life in Albertville.” said Albertville Mayor Tracy Honea.

Willow acquired the 30 plus acre site in April and site work is currently underway. The center is expected to be completed in the spring of 2027.

“The Sand Mountain Marketplace is the culmination of many hours, weeks and months of work by numerous people and entities and will be a destination center that will not only serve the citizens of Albertville – but Marshall County and the surrounding area as well,” added Mayor Honea.”
