Geraldine’s Picnic in the Park welcomes native son Damon Johnson as headliner, along with live music from a variety of local artists Saturday, June 7.
But that’s just the music – there will be a car show, face painting, pony rides, balloon art, a kiddie train and inflatables, food and craft vendors, and a chance to spend time with neighbors and friends. The car show starts at 4 p.m. Other activities begin at 5 p.m. and the evening will end with a fireworks show. Admission is free.
Johnson first got national recognition fronting the band Brother Kane, and scoring three #1 singles on U.S. Rock Radio in the 1990s (“Got No Shame,” “And Fools Shine On,” and “I Lie In The Bed I Make”).
He’s co-written songsfor Stevie Nicks, Carlos Santana, Steven Tyler, and Sammy Hagar, and since August of 2021, Johnson has been performing on lead guitar in Lynyrd Skynyrd, taking over the guitar parts played by the late Gary Rossington.
