Sand Mountain Soirée

Northeast Alabama Community College welcomed guests for their eighth annual Sand Mountain Soiré

Northeast Alabama Community College held its annual Sand Mountain Soirée event on Saturday, March 2 ash the Tom Bevil Lyceum. This community-favorite event featured guest speaker Ashley Gilbreath.

Gilbreath is a southern-based interior designer renowned for creating casually elegant homes where the family can gather to celebrate everyday living. Her work is thoughtfully and patiently designed to ensure memories are wrapped in a feeling of love, comfort, and beauty. Ashley studied at Auburn University and the New York School of Interior Design and is a winner of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art’s coveted Shutze Award. Her work can be seen in her debut book, The Joy of Home, on ashleygilbreath.com, and on Instagram @ashleygilbreathinteriordesign.

"It's exciting having Ashley Gilbreath on campus.  She is a renowned residential interior designer, and her works are on display from Florida to New York City," stated NACC President Dr. David Campbell.

The event was created by NACC Event Planning and Alumni Relations Coordinator, Chasley Brown. This is her eighth year producing the event.

“We are very grateful to have had NACC’s eight Sand Mountain Soiree. We are able to keep doing this event because of the community’s support, and we are looking forward to next year’s event,” Brown said.

Live music was provided by the Northeast Alabama Community College String Band. Brunch was prepared by chef LuAnne Hastings and served by NACC presidential hosts. The menu included Shepherd’s Pie, peas with spring vegetables, raspberry walnut salad and chocolate chip muffins with chocolate ganache. Julise Clement and Barbara Kilgore assisted Brown in the decorations.

“The decorations are so beautiful and creative. We are thankful for everyone who worked so hard to plan this event. This turned out to be a very popular event at Northeast,” Dr. Campbell said as he thanked everyone for being there.
