Throughout Jackson County, Angel Trees are an opportunity to help those in need. Whether it’s for children or the elderly, the good they provide to the community is critical in bringing hope and joy to those in need during the holiday season.
The people of Jackson County have shown their desire to help with the angel trees already this holiday season. The Rec*Com’s Angel Tree already had all of its angels adopted. Over 30 angels in the community will help make the holiday magical for needy children in Jackson County.
Bruce’s Foodland in Scottsboro has an Angel Tree with lots of angels up for adoption. The angels benefit Jackson County Christmas Charities. Anyone interested in picking up an angel from Bruce’s Angel tree can do so during their business hours everyday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. They ask people to bring the gifts for the angels wrapped with the case numbers attached to the gifts.
The Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce’s Angel Tree benefits children from Jackson County DHR. The chamber has already seen a huge interest in participation from the community with over 30 angels already adopted. As of Thursday, there were still many more children who could benefit from the angel adoptions. People or businesses interested in adopting angels from the chamber’s tree can do so during business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Salvation Army will have angels ready for adoption on their angel tree on Nov. 13. The Salvation Army has their own Christmas Charity that benefits local families in Jackson County. Interested contributors may adopt an angel during their business hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day except Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The angel trees not only help children and families of Jackson County, they help those living at nursing homes and assisted living facilities as well.
Highlands Health and Rehab will have their angel tree ready this weekend. Those interested in picking up an angel can do so every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The angels help benefit residents with activities and other items to make the lives of residents comfortable and happy. In the past, the money has been used to purchase outdoor furniture to give residents a place to enjoy fresh air and sunshine.
The families and individuals who benefit from these angel trees feel overwhelmed with gratitude towards the people who step up to help. It gives them hope and that hope sparks the magic of the holiday season. Those who have adopted angels said it was rewarding and brought them much joy in knowing they’ve helped others. The spirit of giving abounds in the residents of Jackson County and it shows by the consistent drive of the givers.
