FORT PAYNE, Ala.-- (Full video on Southern Torch Facebook Page) The DeKalb County Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, October 12.

DeKalb County Administrator, Matt Sharp, presented a plan for redistricting due to the latest census information. All changes made to districts must be completed within 180 days of election proceedings. The redistricting plan needed to be approved to make all districts within 5% of the others based on census information. The Commissioners approved the changes which will affect Commissioners Terry Harris (District 3) and Lester Black (District 4). After advertising the changes to the districts, a vote will be held at next month's meeting to redistrict the areas.

Sharp also requested that an Energy Performance test by Based Contracting Services be conducted on county buildings. The Commissioners approved the request.

The DeKalb County Commissioners also approved a Worker’s Compensation Renewal and Resolution. This will be in effect until 2024.
