The Fort Payne Board of Education held its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, February 24.
The Board approved the following resignations:
- Tashala Hill, Part-time, System-wide Special Education Aide, effective February 18.
The following transfer was approved by the Board:
- Cassandra Hester, from a full-time Bus Driver to a half-time bus driver, effective February 22.
The following placements were approved:
- Jacob Brown, as Fort Payne High School Girls Soccer Faculty Representative, effective January 28.
- Thomas Wallace, as a Half-time Bus Driver within the Fort Payne City Schools System, effective February 22, and non-renew his contract on May 26, 2022. (Pending completion of bus driver certification)
- James David McCarrell, as Full-time Bus Driver within the Fort Payne City School System, effective February 22, and non-renew his contract on May 26, 2022. (Pending completion of bus driver certification)
- Melissa Shankles, as a System-wide Custodian, within the Fort Payne City Schools, effective March 1, and non-renew her contract on June 30, 2022.
- Jamie Bowman, as an Instructional Aide, at Little Ridge Intermediate School, effective March 1, and non-renew her contract on May 27, 2022.
- William Thomas, as System-Wide, Part-Time SPE Aide, effective February 22, and non-renew his contract on May 26, 2022.
In other business, the Board approved the Fort Payne City Schools 2022-2023 Academic School Calendar.
The next meeting of the Fort Payne Board of Education will be on March 24, beginning at 6 p.m.
