If you live in DeKalb County and ever leave your house, you know how many of our residents are runners.

Jogging was a fad that took off in the 80's and is now back with a vengeance. But not just jogging, 5ks and 10ks are a regular occurrence. It used to be that you had to be this fit, olympian style athlete to run in these events, now it's for everyone.

The autumn slate is full of opportunities for you pounders of pavement to participate in to kickoff the fall running season.

Runnin' for Robin 5K

This race will benefit DeKalb County resident Robin Twilley, who was severely injured in a car accident this summer.

Place: Fyffe Park

Cost: Registration will begin at 7:00 AM with a fee of $30.00

The Great Pumpkin Run RTI 5K

Both runners and walkers are encouraged to participate. Costume is encouraged but not required, with a Corporate Team Award presented to the Company with the most participants.

The race will begin and end at RTI, rain or shine.

1st Annual Big Chief 5k 

The course will travel around Stevenson Park alongside the beautiful scenery of the Tennessee River. All benefits will go to the North Jackson Chiefs Boys’ Basketball Program. Medals will be handed out for top 3 finishers in each age group.   Registration will start at 7:00 a.m. Registration Deadline is October 18.
