Fyffe Defeats Rivals

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. — The Fyffe Red Devils defeated two County rivals this week. 

The Red Devils defeated the Plainview Bears, 65-58 in a nailbiter on Saturday night.

Micah Johnson and Parker Godwin led the Red Devils with 17 points for the night.  

Brody Dalton had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Tate Goolesby had 8 points, 7 rebounds, and four assists. 

Luke Smith led the Plainview Bears with 18 points. Cole Millican had 14 points and Dylan Haymon had 13 points for the night. 

“We played a tremendous defensive game the second half,” said Fyffe Head Coach Neal Thrash. “Our rebounding was solid and we played just good enough to pull out a win.” 

On Tuesday night, the Red Devils defeated the Sylvania Rams, 51-38.

Brody Dalton led the Red Devils with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Parker Goodwin had 14 points and Micah Johnson tacked on 12 points. Tate Goolesby had seven assists. 

“Sylvania really got after us but we settled down and played better as the game went along” Thrash stated.  “We need to be ready to play every night and we weren’t ready tonight and that’s my fault.”
