Friday Night Dogfight

PIEDMONT, Ala. — The Piedmont Bulldogs defeated the Geraldine Bulldogs 34-14 on Friday night.

With 3:45 remaining in the first quarter, Piedmont put points on the board with a 9-yard pass. The point-after attempt was good,  giving Piedmont  the 7-0 lead.

To start the second quarter, Piedmont scored with a 66-yard touchdown to make the score 14-0 with 10:26 remaining in the first half.  Piedmont on their next possession completed a pass across the middle for a touchdown, giving Piedmont the 21-0 advantage over Geraldine with 6:51 remaining in the second quarter.  Piedmont closed out the first half, scoring their fourth touchdown of the night taking the 28-0 lead over Geraldine.

In the third quarter, Piedmont fumbled on the opening drive. Geraldine got the ball on Piedmont’s  25- yard line. Geraldine had no trouble moving the ball but fumbled on the 13-yard line with Piedmont recovering. With 4:42 remaining in the third quarter, Piedmont scored another touchdown. The PAT was no good, making the score 34-0.

In the fourth quarter, Geraldine made their first touchdown of the night when Drew Fowler dashed into the endzone, the PAT was good, making the score 34-7. With 4:24 remaining in the game Geraldine made their second touchdown of the night to make the final score 34-14. 

The Geraldine Bulldogs will host the Westminster Christian Wildcats tonight at 7:00 pm.
