SYLVANIA, Ala. — The Plainview Bears defeated the Sylvania Rams, 29-20 in Class 3A action on Friday night.   

The Rams scored first on a 1-yard touchdown with 8:43 remaining in the first quarter. Jaxson Smith made the extra point, to take the 7-0 lead. With 3:33 remaining in the first, Gareth Anderson sailed in from 5-yards out, making the score 13-0. With 1:54 remaining in the opening quarter, Noah White came crashing in from 39-yards out for the Plainview touchdown. The extra point by Jacob Yates made the score 13-7 at the end of one. 

White scored his second touchdown of the night with a 1-yard scamper into the endzone, to tie the game 13-13, going into the half.

Kennan Wilbanks gave the Rams the lead with 8:10 remaining in the third, with a 6-yard stampede into the endzone. The extra point by Jaxon Andrade was good, to take the 20-13 lead. The Bears scored with 6:42 remaining in the third quarter on a Noah White 44-yard pass connection to Andrew Hall. White brought in the two-point conversion to take the 21-20 lead over Sylvania. 

Brody McCurdy started the fourth quarter with a 5-yard game-winning touchdown. He then brought in the 2-point conversion to make the final of the night, 29-20.

Plainview had 329 total yards for the night. Marcos Vega led the Bears with 140 yards on nineteen carries.

Sylvania had 357 total yards and two fumbles for the night. Gareth Anderson led the Rams with 103 total yards for the night. 

Both teams will be at home this week as Plainview hosts Brindlee Mountain on Thursday night and Sylvania will host East Limestone.
