MOBILE, Ala. — According to a report by CNN, President Trump will travel to Mobile next month to campaign on behalf of U.S. Senate candidate and former Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville.

Tuberville is locked in a runoff against former U.S. Attorney General and U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions. The winner of the July 14 runoff will face Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.) in November.

Trump endorsed Tuberville in March over his former Attorney General, with whom he has a tense relationship, due to Sessions recusing himself from the investigation on whether or not Trump's campaign colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 election.

"The people of Alabama will not be told who to vote for by anyone in Washington," said Sessions via Twitter on Monday. "As recent experience demonstrates, in Alabama we make our own decisions on who will represent us in the US Senate. It's always a good day when the President of the United States visits Alabama."

In a poll conducted by OnMessage from May 26-27 amongst a pool of 600 likely voters, Tuberville led Sessions 49-43 with eight percent undecided. The poll had a margin of error of 3.46%.
