Rainsville Passes Alcohol By-Laws

RAINSVILLE, Ala. — The Rainsville City Council held their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, October 5.  

The Council passed the by-laws for the City of Rainsville Alcohol License Review Committee. Due to a job change, Ryan Tramel was replaced on the Alcohol License Review Committee by Jeffery Pope. The Council also approved the opening of a checking account with First Southern State Bank for the deposit of alcohol revenue deposits. 

In other business:

  • Approved the City Clerk Fall Training for Kelly Frazier in Tuscaloosa for October 20-23 
  • Approved the headwall repair of the culvert on Garrett Street, behind Plainview School in the amount of $1,200 to Boozer Construction
  • Approved  headwall repair on Church Street in the amount of $1,500 to Boozer Construction

Eric Samples updated the Council on the Alabama Little Britches Rodeo that was held at the Northeast Alabama Agribusiness Center recently.  According to Samples, all stalls and camping spots were booked during the event.  

The City of Rainsville will be hosting a Trunk-or-Treat at the City Park on October 31 beginning at 5 p.m. 

The next meeting of the Rainsville City Council will be on October 19 with a work session beginning at 4:15 and a regular meeting at 5 p.m.
