DeKalb County Absentee Voting Starts Now

DeKalb County Absentee Voting Starts Now

Submitted by DeKalb County Circuit Clerk Todd Greeson

As Absentee Election Manager of DeKalb County, I would very much like to encourage you to mail in your absentee application starting now through July 9.

With the Coronavirus having so many in our county self-quarantining, we are more than happy to be able to send you applications in the mail. After receiving your application in the mail, we will mail your ballot out to you. Or, you may access an absentee application online at alabamavotes.gov. When filling out your application mark the reason: "I have a physical illness or infirmity that prevents my attendance at the polls" This is acceptable during this time. It is important to remember to send in a copy of your ID along with the application.

If you have any questions about the absentee process in our county, please call us at 256-845-8525. Keep in mind that courthouse hours as of today are 10:00 am to 2:00 pm but could be subject to change at any time. We will be working to process the absentee applications as soon as possible. Also, please understand that you will be screened before being allowed to enter the courthouse if you decide to come in to vote. This is a big reason we are encouraging absentee voting by mail,

Mail your applications to: Absentee Election Manager PO Box 681149 Fort Payne, AL 35967

Thank you for your cooperation through this trying time for DeKalb County and our Nation.
