Cornerstone Wins First State Championship

OXFORD, Ala. — The Cornerstone Christian Academy Lady Eagles won the Alabama Christian Athletic Association Division State Basketball Championship on Saturday, February 22.  

This is the first varsity sport State Championship in Cornerstone school history. 

Sophomore, Laura Beth Wells was awarded Tournament MVP and voted to the All-State Team.  Wells had a total of 43 points for the tournament.  

Senior, Kelly Nelson was voted to the All-State Team.  For the tournament, she had a double-double on both days, with a total of 25 points and 24 rebounds. 

The Cornerstone Lady Eagles are coached by Athletic Director Heather Harrison and Lori Culpepper.
