On behalf of the Mayor, Town Council & Sylvania Police Department:

The lights in and around the youth baseball and softball fields may only be used for league play. No one other than the youth baseball and softball league is permitted to utilize these lights.

There is a lock on the electrical box/lights that have been damaged and tampered with to access the lights. Tampering with an electrical box is both dangerous and unlawful. Property has been damaged and this constitutes criminal activities.

The Sylvania Police Department has video footage of the perpetrators of these crimes and is investigating. The Sheriff's Office has also been alerted to this criminal behavior. Once these individuals are identified, they will be criminally charged and permanently banned from Town Park.

The Town of Sylvania strives to provide a nice park where its residents can go for enjoyment and provide a place for the youth to play baseball and softball. It is disappointing that individuals will resort to bringing tools to utilize in damaging Town property and unlawfully utilizing Town resources.
