STEVENSON, Ala. — On May 24,2017, members of the Stevenson Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop on Cox St. in Stevenson, AL. for a traffic violation.

The stop led to the search of the vehicle driven by Randall Scott Akin age 33 of Bridgeport, AL. During the search of the vehicle Sheriff’s Narcotics deputies located a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun, approx 96 Xanax pills, Oxycodone, Marijuana, digital scales and $3,400.00 cash.

Deputies arrested AKIN who was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances  (Xanax), Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances (Oxycodone), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Carrying a pistol without a permit. AKIN was transported to the Jackson County Jail.  At the time of this release bond had not yet been set for the Felony Charges.
