FORT PAYNE, Ala. — During the last three weeks of June and the first week of July, 16 were arrested on drug-related charges. We would like to thank the DeKalb County Narcotics Agents, Deputies and Investigators, Ider Police Department, State Probation and Parole, DHR, Crossville Police Department, Henagar Police Department, and Collinsville Police Department for always just being a phone call away.
On Thursday, June 16th, the DeKalb County Narcotics Agents, along with DeKalb County Deputies and DeKalb County Criminal Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on County Road 138 in Henagar that involved stolen property. Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with Daniel Scott Bearden (38 of Albertville) who was in possession of over 20 grams of methamphetamine. Shannon Denise Coley (45 of Henagar) was also found to be in possession of about 1lb of marijuana, methamphetamine, and a firearm which she had no permit.
Bearden was charged with Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substances, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and 3 warrants for Failure to Appear. Coley was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, and Pistol Concealed without Permit. This case is ongoing with more charges pending.
Also, on Thursday, the DeKalb County Narcotics Agents conducted a search warrant at a residence on County Road 4, finding methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Michael Shane Mims (53 of Boaz) was charged with Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance (x4), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On Tuesday, June 21st, Ider Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on Al Hwy 75. During the stop, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. Dillon Jarmin Morgan (32 of Ider) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance. Narcotics Agents were called to assist.
Again, on Tuesday, Probation Officers went to a residence on County Road 141 in Ider to follow up with a Parolee. While there they found methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the residence. Marvin Pearson Chadwick III (25 of Ider) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance. Narcotics Agents were called to assist.
On Wednesday, June 22nd, the DeKalb County Narcotics Agents conducted a search warrant at a residence on County Road 51 in Fort Payne. During the search, methamphetamine and a marijuana growing operation were found. DHR was called to the scene, due to a small child being in the home. Derick Charles Robbins (31 of Fort Payne) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (x3), Unlawful Manufacturing of Controlled Substance 1st, Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance (x2) and Chemical Endangerment of Exposing a Child. Michael Ryan Hulgan (31 of Fort Payne) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Manufacturing of Controlled Substance and 3 warrants for Failure to Appear.
On Thursday, June 23rd, the DeKalb County Narcotics Agents conducted a traffic stop on Al Hwy 35 and County Road 90 in Fort Payne. During the stop, the driver was found to be in possession of approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Larry Christopher Dudley (46 of Stevenson) was charged with Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance.
On Thursday, June 30th, Narcotics Agents attempted to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 134, with the driver failing to stop. After a short pursuit, the driver ran off the roadway in Jackson County. Jonthan Michael Moore (42 of Dutton) was charged with Attempt to Elude Police, Reckless Endangerment, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Speeding 100 in a 45.
On Saturday, July 2nd, DeKalb County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on County Road 478 in Kilpatrick finding approximately 21 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Brandy Lashae Turner (35 of Albertville) was charged with Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Joseph Michael Boone (32 of Boaz) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Christy Michele Monday (41 of Albertville) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd. Crossville Police Officers and Narcotics Agents were called to assist.
On Sunday, July 3rd, Dorota Koska (31 of Henagar) was brought to the DeKalb County Detention Center by Henagar Police Officers for Domestic Violence 3rd. After she arrived, she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, prescription medication, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Koska was charged with Domestic Violence 3rd, Illegal Possession of Prescription Drugs, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Promote Prison Contraband 2nd. Narcotic Agents were called in to assist.
On Monday, July 4th, Narcotics Agents conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 75 in Fyffe, finding the driver to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Bradley Shane White (48 of Rainsville) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st, DUI (controlled substance), and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On Tuesday, July 5th, Narcotics Agents attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the Mt. Vernon area with the vehicle failed to stop. After a short vehicle pursuit, the driver stopped and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Justin Tyler Norris (34 of Cedar Bluff) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and an Attempt to Elude Police.
Again, on Tuesday, Collinsville Police Officers conducted a traffic stop finding the driver to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Anabel McKenzie Craig (21 of Fort Payne) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances, Illegal Possession of Credit/Debit Card, and Theft of Property 3rd. Narcotics Agents were called to assist.
