Suspect in Cherokee County double-murder taken into custody

wilcoxvictimCENTRE, Ala —Cherokee County double-homicide suspect, Jeffrey Alan Wilcox, Jr., wanted for Capital Murder and First Degree Kidnapping is behind bars today. Perhaps even more importantly, his kidnapped wife Chasidy Wilcox is unharmed and safe at home, Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Schaver reported to Southern Torch in an exclusive interview today.

Wilcox, 30, has been on the run, spending four days as a fugitive after allegedly committing a double homicide in the southern part of Cherokee County on Sunday afternoon. It’s believed that Wilcox kidnapped his wife, 30-year-old Chasidy Wilcox, after committing the murders.

The bodies of Latisha and Daniel Andrews were discovered around 1:30 p.m. at a house in a rural area on County Road 19, between Centre and Piedmont. The victims are believed to be the in-laws of Wilcox. Their daughter, Chasidy, was allegedly kidnapped by Wilcox, has been missing for the past four days as a statewide manhunt was conducted by law enforcement.

Wilcox turned himself in to police today and was immediately taken into custody. He faces multiple charges including Capital Murder and kidnapping.
