SYLVANIA, Ala. — The Geraldine Bulldogs defeated the Sylvania Rams 17-10 in Region play on Thursday night.
With 8:37 remaining in the first quarter, the Rams scored on a 1-yard dash into the endzone by Gareth Anderson. The kick by Jaxon Andrade gave the Rams the early, 7-0 lead.
The Geraldine Bulldogs put points on the board with 8:50 remaining in the second quarter with a 45-yard pass connection to Caleb Hall from Bo Harper. The point-after attempt tied the game 7-7. The Rams settled for a 20-yard kick by Andrade to take the 10-7 lead with 3:04 remaining in the second quarter. Hall, on the delayed handoff, scored on a 53-yard touchdown. The point-after attempt by Jose Garcia was good, giving the Bulldogs the 14-10 advantage going into the half.
The Bulldogs scored the final points of the night, with a 34-yard field goal by Garcia to make the final score, 17-10.
Geraldine will travel to take on the Fyffe Red Devils on Friday. The Sylvania Rams will host the Plainview Bears.
