SuperRegionals: First games slated Wednesday

DeKalb County will be well represented in the 2024 North Region Volleyball tournament this week in Hoover.

Here’s how they made their way to the Super Regional contest:

Geraldine and Sylvania finished No. 1 and No. 2 in the Class 3A Area 13 tournament last week, earning their place in the Super Regionals.

Ider won the Class 1A Area 16 title, and a place in the tourney.

Plainview lost to Madison County 3-1 in Class 4A Area 16, winning a place in Super Regionals as runner up.

Fort Payne played last Thursday in the Class 6A Area 14 tournament in Southside. Fort Payne defeated Gadsden City, but fell to Southside in the finals. As runner up, Fort Payne advances to the Super Regionals.

Schedule for DeKalb County teams

Class 6A: Oxford vs Fort Payne – Wednesday, Oct. 23, 10:15 a.m.

Class 4A: Curry vs Plainview – Wednesday, Oct. 23, 11:30 a.m.

Class 1A: Ider vs Holy Spirit Catholic – Thursday, Oct. 24, 11 a.m.

Class 3A: Geraldine vs Glencoe – Thursday, Oct. 24, 12:15 p.m.

Class 3A: Ohatchee vs Sylvania – Thursday, Oct. 24, 1:30 p.m.

The tournament will be played at the Finley Center of the Hoover Met Complex at 5508 Stadium Trace Parkway, Hoover. Tickets are $14 and may be purchased at GoFan.com or at the gate. The Hoover Met Complex is a cashless facility, including concessions, with the exception of the cash ticket option offers to spectators through the Alabama High School Athletic Association staff.
