MONTGOMERY, Ala. — At the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) 34th State Softball Tournament, the Pisgah Lady Eagles were crowned as the Class 3A State Softball Champions.
Pisgah went through the 3A competition undefeated. The Lady Eagles beat Wicksburg 4-1 to claim the championship, the 8th in school history.
Pisgah (47-10) scored three runs in the first two innings of the game. Leigha Kirby was named Most Valuable Player (MVP), having six hits in seven innings. At the plate, the Lady Eagles had five players who had one hit each while Jaden Burgess drove in two runs.
Wicksburg scored its only run in the top of the fifth on an RBI single.
Members of the Class 3A All-State Tourney Team were: Leigha Kirby, Kaylee Vaught and Kennedy Barron, all of Pisgah.
