Another year, another victory. That's 20 in a row now for the Plainview Bears over the Pisgah Eagles. The streak that began in 1989 will continue.
This was a fast paced, back and forth affair that saw the Bears just be too much for the Eagles to handle.
The Bears put in an entire team effort and the stat sheet proved it.
Jayse Pruitt: 190 yards and 3 TDs
Caleb Spears: 114 yards
Cody Willingham: 123 yards and TD
John David Martin: 2 TDs
Payne Anderson made his season debut but was limited to a handful of snaps due to a tight hamstring. The Junior will look to work his way back in to the fold for what could be another shootout next week at J.B. Pennington.
The Pisgah Eagles were a one man show as QB Dillon DeMarco was named Southern Torch Game of the Week MVP after tallying 301 yards and 4 TDs.
In the end, the Bears team effort prevailed and the game ended with a Plainview victory formation.
If the Bears can build off of this win, they should roll through the rest of 3A Region 6 play.
After 3 games, the Region looks like it's taking shape and could finish
- Geraldine
- Plainview
- Pisgah
- New Hope
NEXT WEEK: The Plainview Bears look to continue to build from this performance as they travel to J.B. Pennington to face another talented QB.
PREDICTION: Plainview wins in similar fashion on the road and continues to gain momentum.
