JACKSONVILLE, Ala.-- The Plainview Varsity Boys (28-6) defeated Glencoe (18-13), 83-46 in the Regional Semifinal game on Monday, at the Pete Matthews Coliseum, on the campus of Jacksonville State University.
The score was only tied once during the game, with Plainview taking the 20-6 lead in the first. The Bears outscored Glencoe, 20-16 in the second period, to take the 40-24 lead into intermission. After intermission, the Plainview Bears scored 21 to Glencoe’s 18 points in the third period. In the final period, Plainview outscored Glencoe, 22-4, making the final 83-46.
Garrett Morgan led Piedmont with 19 points and six rebounds.
Luke Smith led the Plainview Bears with 20 points and had six rebounds. Jonah Williams followed with 18 points. Landon White had 15 points and seven rebounds for the game. Dylan Haymon had 14 points and two rebounds. Levi Brown had 7 points and four rebounds. Joseph Hutchenson, Owner Wilborn, and Ben Chandler each added 3 points to the score.
The Plainview Varsity Boys will face Piedmont in the Class 3A Regional Finals on Thursday, at 10:45 a.m.
