What a weekend for Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) Fishing! The anglers successfully competed at Lake Neeley-Henry in Gadsden, Alabama this past Saturday in the third stop on the FishLife Collegiate Tour.
After having an odd number of pairs for this tournament, one NACC angler, Mason Light, volunteered to fish solo. Light figured out Lake Neeley-Henry very quickly and took home 3rd place. NACC duo, Dakota Garner and Hayden Tilley finished 10th and also took home the BIG FISH prize with a 5.23lb large mouth.
“It is hard enough to fish 8 hours in the changing weather and have somebody with you, but it is a different story to do it alone,” said co-Sponsor Bryan Roe. “Mason is one tough kid and a good fisherman. We are very proud of him.”
Sponsor Ross Boydston said, “We couldn't compete without all of our sponsors, especially our main sponsors Harbin Automotive and Northeast Alabama Community College. Our school is one of the most supporting schools in the state.”
The NACC Fishing Team is currently ranked 30th in the nation in Cabela’s School of the Year in only its 2nd year of competing.
