JACKSONVILLE, Ala.-- The Plainview Varsity Girls (31-3) defeated Ohatchee (27-5), 74-53 Monday, in the Regional Semi-Final Basketball Tournament held at the Pete Matthews Coliseum, on the campus of Jacksonville State University.
The Lady Bears trailed by three, to end the first quarter with a score of 14-11. In the second quarter, the Lady Bears scored 23 -13 points over Ohatchee, to go into intermission with a 34-27 advantage.
In the third, Ohatchee outscored the Lady Bears 19-17. The Lady Bears answered back outscoring Ohatchee 23-7 in the fourth quarter.
Throughout the game, the score was tied five times with the lead changing five times.
Jorda Crook led Ohatchee with 46 of the team's 53 points. She also had 12 rebounds for the game.
Sawyer Kate Hulgan led the Plainview Lady Bears with five three-pointers, with 29 points. Saydi Jackson scored 15 points and had nine rebounds for the game. Gracie Rowell had three three-pointers and four rebounds. Lauren Jimmerson had 7 points and four rebounds. Kami Sanders had 5 points and six rebounds. Aii Prive had 5 points and five rebounds. Zanna Ferguson and Graidin Haas each added two points to score.
The Lady Bears will advance to face Susan Moore in the finals of the Regional Basketball Tournament on Thursday, February 23.
