Week 4- A lot of good games this week. Region standing start heating up this week. This should start to separate the contenders from the pretenders.
Ider (3-0) at Fyffe (2-1) The Hornets are having a dream season so far. Coach Tinker and his Hornets are playing good hard nosed defense and have a punishing ground attack. But they are playing at Fyffe this week , I’m looking for Benefield and Kilpatrick rushing with a little of Collins and Ashley receiving, and a strong defensive performance by the red bunch. Fyffe kills Ider’s dream season.
Plainview (0-3) at Sand Rock (2-1) The Bears are still searching for that first win of season. The Bears play better Friday and start to get things together . The Rock is a hard place to win at. Rock wins a close one at home.
Sylvania (1-2) at NSM (2-1) The Bison’s are having good season so far with 2 wins on the season. Playing good defense and just enough offense to win. The Ram’s got a taste of Victory last week and liked it. Putnam’s young Rams win again. Roebuck, Dicus and Miller lead the Rams.
Geraldine (1-2) at Brindlee Mtn.(1-2) Brindlee lone win on the season was against Holly Pond. Haven’t done much since that game. Coach Waldrop’s Bulldogs finally broke the ice with their first win last week. They should get another one this week . Look for Hood, Willoughby and Murphy to have a big game.
Cleveland (3-0) at Collinsville (2-1) The panthers have won two in a row after letting their first game slip threw their hands. Reed ,Blakely and Nash have been running wild, throw in Jones passing and the Panthers have a lethal offense. Cleveland is the real deal, that Quarterback they have is college bound. Cleveland wins a shootout.
Cleburne County (2-1) at Crossville (0-3) The Lions will have to play way over their heads to have a chance. Don’t see it happening this week. Cleburne County Rolls.
Valley Head (1-2) at Gaylesville (0-3) The Trojans are off to a rocky start this season. They are at home this week. That will help some but not enough as Coach Graham young Tigers maul the Trojans in a nail bitter. Tigers win.
Fort Payne (3-0) at Albertville (3-0) Coach Pruitt’s Aggies put a whipping on Scottsboro last week. This game could be a big factor in deciding the region champion this year. Neither team has surrendered a lose this year. Aggies defense is strong but watch out for the Wildcat’s Turner and King getting loose late in the game and the Wildcat’s winning a exciting game.
