The Fort Payne High School tennis team won its first Sectional Match Thursday at home, Coach Logan Wright said, playing against the Hazel Green Trojans.

The Lady Wildcats won 8-1, winning all three doubles matches.

The boys won 7-2, also winning all three doubles matches played.

Boys single winners were:

Patrick Long (#2) – 8-6

Joseph Hernandez (#3) – 8-5

Elliot Guice (#4) – won in a tie-breaker

Tristen Rogers (#6) – won 1-0

Girls single winners were:

C-Rae Carrol (#1) – 8-4

AK Akins (#2) – 8-0

Micaela Domingo (#3) – 8-2

Debbie Domingo (#5) – 8-6

Braelyn Neeley (#5) – 8-6

The Wildcats are slated to play Boaz at home March 18, at 3 p.m.
