FORT PAYNE, Ala.—The Oxford Yellow Jackets and the Fort Payne Wildcats met Monday night in what will go down as one of the most exciting games of the season.

Fort Payne jumped to an early lead in the first quarter with a 12-7 score.  They held on to their lead going into the half with a score of 28-18. Coming back from the half, the Oxford Yellow Jackets picked up momentum and came within four points of tying the game.  With 32.7 seconds, left in the game, Oxford scored to tie the game. The Wildcats had a chance to win the game but missed the basket.  Oxford went up one point as time ran out.  Final Oxford 53, Fort Payne 52.

Fort Payne loses a heartbreaker

Two Fort Payne Wildcats scored in the double digits.  Wanya King had 28 points. Josh Johnston added 13 points on the board for the Wildcats.
