SUSAN MOORE, Ala. — The Susan Moore Bulldogs defeated the Geraldine Bulldogs, 34-6 on Friday night, to win the Class 3A, Region 7 Championship.
Geraldine put their only points on the board with a 50-yard run by Chase Kermondy. The point after attempt failed, giving Geraldine the early 6-0 lead.
With 9:12 remaining in the second quarter, Susan Moores scored. The extra point attempt was good to take the 7-6 lead over Geraldine.
WIth 5:34 remaining in the third quarter, Susan Moore tacked on another touchdown. The extra point attempt was good to give the Susan Moore Bulldogs the 14-6 advantage.
Both teams fumbled the ball, early in the fourth quarter. Susan Moore capitalized on the Geraldine fumble to broaden their lead to 21-6 with 3:07 remaining in the game, Susan Moore took an interception back 50 plus yards for the score, to make the score 28-6. With 1:05 remaining in the game, Susan Moore scored on another pick 6. The point after attempt failed, making the final score 34-6.
The Geraldine Bulldogs (5-3) will travel to face the Sylvania Rams (7-1) on Friday.
