SECTION, Ala. — The Fyffe Red Devils shutout the Section Lions, 49-0 in a Class 2A, Region 8 game on Friday night.
Ike Rowell scored on a 4-yard touchdown with 9:23 remaining in the first. The point after attempt by Brody Dalton was good and the Red Devils took the 7-0 lead. With 5:50 remaining in the first, Malachi Mize found the endzone. The PAT was good and Fyffe went up 14-0. After a fumble, Lineman Jacob Mitchell ran it in from 20 yards out to score and bring the Fyffe lead to 21-0.
With less than a minute ticked off the time clock in the second quarter, Rowell scored on a 11-yard run. Kyle Dukes gave the Red Devils the 34-0 lead when he ran one in from 23 yards out with 6:48 remaining in the first half. Section donated two points to Fyffe on a safety. Tyler Machen scored on a 14-yard run to close out the half.
In the last minute of the third quarter, Brodie Hicks scored on a 1-yard dash into the endzone. Dalton scored 5 PAT’s for the night.
Fyffe will remain in regional play as they host the Collinsville Panthers on Friday night.
