COLLINSVILLE, Ala. — The Collinsville Panthers boys soccer team began the 2021 season with a 9-0 victory over the Sylvania Rams.
The Panthers were led by Roberto Diaz with three goals (hat trick) and two assists. Bryant Parker, Tristan Gallegos, Jesus Francisco, Jan Segura, Robert Gallegos, and Juan Carlos all scored one goal each.
Francisco had two assists and Segura had one. Jonathan Ocelot preserved the shutout in goal.
"I was pleased with the win tonight but we can play much better," said Coach Jeff Stanley. "We must improve in several areas to reach our team goals. It was good to be on the field playing soccer again."
"Last season was very frustrating and disappointing. We just want to play soccer," Stanley concluded.
Collinsville, 1-0 overall and 1-0 in section play, will travel to Boaz on Tuesday night.
