RAINSVILLE, Ala. — The Geraldine Bulldogs defeated the Plainview Bears, 48-6 on Friday night.
Geraldine started their scoring frenzy with 5:00 remaining in the first quarter on a 3-yard rushing touchdown by Senior, Austin King. The extra point by Jose Garcia was good, giving the Bulldogs the 7-0 lead. With 0:01 remaining in the first quarter, the Bulldogs scored on a 13-yard pass connection from Davey Graham to Jackson Bearden. The PAT by Garcia was good, making the score 14-0.
Geraldine did not hesitate when scoring on a 53-yard punt return by Kyle Thackerson. The PAT by Garcia was good, broadening the Bulldog lead to 21-0. Freshman, Kaleb Hall scored on an 18-yard rushing touchdown with 3:31 remaining in the second quarter, The kick by Garcia was good, making the score 28-0. To close out the first half, Geraldine intercepted and Anthony Baldwin ran it back 66-yards. The kick was good giving the Bulldogs the 35-0 cushion going into the half.
Austin King scored for the Bulldogs on a 2-yard dash into the endzone with 7:07 remaining in the third quarter, to make the score 42-0.
With 11:07 remaining in the fourth, Geraldine scored their last points of the night with an 9-yard gallop into the endzone by Kyle Thackerson. The extra point was good, making the score 48-0. To avoid the shut out, Brody McCurdy brought it in for the Bears from 2-yards out. The Bulldogs won against the Bears, 48-6.
Plainview will travel to take on Susan Moore on Friday. Geraldine will be on the road against Brindlee Mountain.
