"Are You Ready? Can We Do It Again?"

"Are You Ready? Can We Do It Again?"

Yes, we can sweep the state again like we did in 2010! Alabamians will head to the polls to elect officials from county commission to U.S. Senate a week from Tuesday. It is a huge election year, with every single state legislator and statewide constitutional officer on the ballot.

Hundreds of grassroots workers have been tirelessly working on campaigns this year. From giving financial support, knocking on doors or just spreading the word, the enthusiasm for our ticket has been great. And, our faithful workers will continue to do this right up until Election Day. This is not a time to become distracted by events that we have no control over. We have great candidates up and down our ticket, and we will stay focused on electing every one of them on November 4.

For months, Republicans across the state have worked with the Alabama Republican Party on voter engagement and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts. ALGOP’s Director of Voter Engagement, Zach Bowman, is responsible for our voter registration, absentee voting and ballot security efforts. Our Ballot Security program is the most thorough effort that the Party has ever had to stamp out voter fraud.  There has also been continued promotion of the details for the new photo voter ID law and absentee voting through television, radio and print advertisements.

>>>In our voter registration efforts, the political team, under the direction of Britney Garner, has set up tailgates at Auburn and Alabama home games to register student voters and engage fans with Republican candidates. They have also traveled the state educating voters and training candidates to run solid, successful campaigns.

All of the groundwork has been done to prepare for a successful election. Now it is up to the votes to go to the polls and vote. Every campaign will be won or lost based on the candidates’ GOTV efforts. It is vital that all Republicans get out and vote on November 4.

Some say that there just isn’t that much excitement about most of the races at the top of the ticket and it is “assumed” that Republicans will have a clean sweep of all the statewide candidates. If we do not encourage our friends, family, neighbors and fellow church members to get out and vote, we could wake up the next morning to find that we came up short on some races. DON’T LET THAT HAPPEN!

ALGOP has taken the possibility of voter apathy seriously and has put together the most aggressive GOTV program in the party’s history. You will soon see the result of our efforts. ALGOP and U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions have worked together to produce and air a couple of TV commercials encouraging voters to show up to vote. Each time you see these commercials in the coming days make a note of someone you can call to encourage them to be sure to vote on November 4.

While there may be some apathy on the part of voters, there is no shortage of great candidates this year. The slate of candidates on the Republican ballot this year is truly the best the Party has ever had. True conservatives full of passion and motivation to serve their neighbors have stepped forward. The progress Alabama has experienced since Republicans gained the majority has been inspiring for so many. The drive to continue to push forward and lift Alabama is deep within our Republican candidates.

Conservative Republican leadership is working for Alabama. Your vote is very important to ensure we can continue to reform state government, increase our economy and create more good paying jobs. Alabama Democrats support Obama’s failed policies. By voting, you can stand up against their liberal agenda and send a message that Republican leadership is right for Alabama.

As we enter the final days of the campaign, we should all focus on the future: the future of the Republican Party and the future of our great state.  With God’s blessing and our hard work, we will be victorious on November 4.
